Sus^cool summer school 2025 kicks off!

The sus^cool Summer School has officially started! Last Tuesday, March 11, the online phase kicked off with an introductory lecture, followed by an exciting presentation on March 13 exploring the historical use of wood and earth as building materials.

Over the next two months, our 30 participants from 16 different countries will attend inspiring lectures on bio-based building materials. These sessions provide a comprehensive overview of the topic, covering everything from historical construction techniques to their integration into contemporary architecture. Key themes include the evolution of sustainable materials, advancements in bio-based construction, and the role of digitalization in material innovation. The lectures also showcase best-practice examples featuring cutting-edge applications.

In parallel, participants will take part in an international design competition. Working in teams of three, they will develop concepts for a timber seating landscape. The best projects will be brought to life during the on-site phase of the sus^cool Summer School in July!
