Students from various countries and disciplines will participate in a unique hands-on learning experience, planning, building, and experimenting with bio-based materials, innovative techniques and approaches. Apply now!

Join us for an enriching experience where you can dive into the world of sustainable architecture and innovative building practices. Throughout the program, you’ll have the opportunity to work with leading experts, engage in hands-on workshops, and collaborate with fellow students passionate about green building.

Schedule and Course Focus
The summer school focuses on exploring the building materials timber, earth, and straw, guided by renowned experts as lecturers and supervisors. The virtual part serves as an introduction to these bio-based materials, preparing you for the hands-on experience. Between February and May 2025, you’ll attend online lectures on Thursday or Tuesday evenings and participate in a design competition, receiving guidance and mentorship throughout. The best projects will be selected by students and lecturers and brought to life on-site between July 7–20, 2025.

Costs
Participation in the summer school is free of charge. Transportation, accommodation, and meals must be arranged individually or covered by a grant.

Online evening lecture: 2 ECTs Hands-on workshops: 4 ECTs
Application
The online application is open until October 31, 2024, and is completed by submitting a portfolio with a short CV. Only students who will complete both formats (virtual lecture and hands-on workshops) will be selected.
