NETTØSKILLS – Developing the Skills for Climate-Neutral and Circular Construction
Developing the Skills for Climate-Neutral and Circular Construction
What skills do we need to plan and build in a climate-neutral and circular way? Which competencies are already established in architecture and planning practices, and where is further development needed?
These questions are at the centre of NETTØSKILLS, an FFG-funded research project carried out by Hochschule Campus Wien in collaboration with Habitat 2030 and other project partners. The project aims to develop a practice-oriented competency profile and corresponding training formats to support the transition towards climate-neutral and circular construction.
Understanding, developing and testing competencies
At Hochschule Campus Wien, Aída Santana Sosa and Stefanie Pamer contribute to the research and development of the competency profile.
The project is currently in its first phase, “Understanding”. Based on 22 qualitative interviews with professionals from architecture and planning, the team has identified key competencies and discussed the findings in a joint workshop. An ongoing online survey provides further insights into existing skills, their relevance in professional practice and future training needs.
The next phase, “Developing”, will focus on translating these findings into a competency profile and targeted learning formats. From spring 2027, the developed training formats will be tested and refined in a pilot phase.
NETTØSKILLS is looking for input from professionals working in the construction and planning sector. The anonymous online survey takes approximately 15 minutes and helps identify which competencies are most relevant for the future of sustainable building.
Take part and help shape future training opportunities for climate-neutral and circular construction!
